About Us
The Alison Victoria School of Sewing is the largest independent sewing school in the UK attracting students from all over the country, Europe and further afield. The School of Sewing has a permanent base in a first floor studio over 'Fabulous Fabric', based in the heart of Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire.
Ashby de la Zouch is a lovely market town with historical roots dating back to Norman times.

The School of Sewing has two teaching rooms, one on the first floor and one on the second floor of "Fabulous Fabric". This means that some days we can have two classes running and I have recruited some of the best teachers in their respective field to teach for me.
City & Guilds level 2 qualifications are also available in Fashion, Lingerie, Tailoring and Corsetry. City & Guilds

All the workshops taught are of a highly practical nature with samples or part garments/creative items made by all students. Class size is limited to a maximum of six students per class.
Workshops commence at 10.00 am prompt and finish at approx 4.00 pm. The course fee includes all tuition, use of all equipment, a light lunch and refreshments. All sewing equipment including sewing machines and overlockers are provided by the School of Sewing.
Early booking is recommended with the course fee payable in advance. Payment can be made by cheque, or credit/debit card. Stage payment options are also available, please contact me for details. A downloadable booking form can be found within the Booking section of this web site.
If you are unable to join us on a workshop, then do try and pay a visit to the shop. Fabulous Fabric stocks a superb range of quality dress, suit, trouser and special occasion fabrics in addition to a huge range of interlinings and interfacings and specialist corsetry findings. We also stock a full range of haberdashery, paper patterns and Janome sewing machines.
Everything sold in the shop is also available mail order.
